Birth Freely

My name is Lindsey. I am a mother of 3, a nurse and fiercely passionate doula. I have known from a very young age that my calling in life is to care for others. I have spent nearly a decade doing so, but the birth of my second child made me realize my true passion is for women and birth. 

My philosophy with my first born was to "wing it" and just trust everything would be fine. I had no birth education, did no mental prep and had no support other than my equally clueless partner. I joined the 45% of moms who have birth trauma and I struggled with entry into motherhood.

I knew I didn't want my daughter to be an only child, but I also knew I could not repeat my first experience. While we tried for a sibling, I dove in head first to everything birth. I decided home-birth with a midwife was my best option in early 2022. After my first meeting with my midwife all of my anxiety melted away. I felt heard, respected, seen, and truly cared for as a whole person and not just another number in the middle of the night. I knew I wanted to be that calm and constant for other women.
